The FOREFRONT Experience - Introduction
1 minute read
Forefront is a very mediocre game that has obtained a lot of positive reviews for the sole reason that it’s the only equivalent to Battlefield in VR. The game is full of baffling issues, from the absence of simple balance elements to some nonsensical game design decisions.
Playing the game is not fun, so I made a video to make fun of the game. And because I watched Jojo recently, it’s obviously full of references to this anime.
This video was the occasion for me to learn to extract assets from a Unity game and import them into Blender. Forefront is a VR game, so its low-fidelity graphics make it easier to extract and manipulate its assets (unlike Escape from Tarkov for example).
In the following, I will explain how to extract assets from the game towards Blender, and I will explain how I made each scene. I’ll also try to upload some of the files to Open3DLab in the future. As usual, send me an email if you have any questions.
