Importing Tarkov characters to Blender
2 minutes read
In this article I will describe my workflow for importing characters from Escape from Tarkov into Blender.
Check my Open3DLab profile to see the stuff I already ported to Blender.
Requirements
- The game Escape from Tarkov installed on your PC
- Razviar’s Assetstudio
- Blender with the following add-ons :
- Tark to Blend to complete the material setup (see my article about importing maps for more information)
- Rigify, which should already be pre-installed.
- Rigi-all which will be used to create the Rigify rig.
- Bone Widget which will help with the Rigify rig.
Objectives
We will see how to create :
- A blend file containing the character and its in-game animations.
- Another file containing the character and a Rigify version of its rig.
The method I will present will allow you to import the character directly with its weight painting and facial animations. However, I did not find how to make the animations and Rigify rig work at the same time, that is why we will focus on making separate files.
